Stanley Silverman is the dean of Summit College and professor of social science at The University of Akron.
Silverman, who joined UA in 1981 as an associate professor, has served in several administrative positions. Prior to being named a dean, Silverman was acting chair of the College of Education's Department of Counseling and the Department of Sport Science and Wellness Education.
Silverman earned a B.S. in Psychology at Ohio State University, an M.A. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Middle Tennessee State University, and did doctoral work in industrial and organizational psychology at The University of Akron
