ACADEMIC ALIGNMENT PROJECT
OFFICE OF THE SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT AND PROVOST AND COO
ABOUT THE PROJECT -- In a message to campus on Aug. 3, Provost Stroble explained our urgent need to assemble groups to begin work to best describe the ways that our academic programs are aligned with the priorities expressed in Chancellor Fingerhut's planned strategy for creating a system of higher education for Ohio. On August 13, Provost Stroble delivered this charge to the Academic Alignment Project Phase One Team. Those teams worked for three weeks collecting and analyzing data to define areas of excellence at UA. On September 7, the Phase One teams presented their Academic Alignment Project, Phase One Repots to the Phase Two, Campus Team on September 7 for review.
PROJECT TEAMS FORMED -- In two phases, several teams of faculty, staff and contract professionals will prepare the University's response. Phase I teams will inventory our academic assets, compile data, define focus areas and identify contributions to access initiatives and the state's economic development. Phase II teams will evaluate the proposals from the Phase I teams in relation to the state's economy and the statewide higher education environment.
