Areas of Responsibility
Rex Ramsier is the Associate Provost for Academic Policies, Procedures and Reviews. Rex received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Physics from The University of Akron, and his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Pittsburgh. After working as a senior scientist at Westinghouse, he came back to The University of Akron as an Assistant Professor. He currently holds the academic rank of Professor of Physics and Chemistry, and has won both the University-wide Outstanding Teacher and Outstanding Researcher awards. Rex and his undergraduate and graduate students and colleagues publish research concerning surface science and materials characterization as well as the scholarship of teaching and learning.
