Argentina’s Dirty War: Disappearing a Voice, On March 24, 1976, a military junta overthrew the Argentine government and seized control of the country.  A rigidly conservative regime, the junta was characterized both by its free market, monetarist economic policies and the institution of severe political and social restrictions that included military control of the press, universities and labor unions, reintroducing the death penalty, and sanctioning the kidnap and torture of thousands of citizens seen as potential ideological opponents (Caistor xiv).  http://digitalunion.osu.edu/r2/summer06/herbert/dirty_war/index.html

The Las Abuelas project is grounded in the search for identity and the "moral of the story" is that the right to identity is a fundamental human right. It will focus on the development of a 60-minute documentary film about the educational movement headed by Las Abuelas. The film will present the historical and cultural facts, and feature interviews with Las Abuelas and the 'found' grandchildren. The two questions that we hope to shed light on are: how can human beings mistreat other human beings to such a degree, and what can we as a global society do to ensure "nunca mas", never more.  http://searchforidentitydocumentary.com/about.html
