The University does not release grades or transcripts to parents. The University of Akron policy on Confidentiality of Student Records is designed to comply with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA). This federal law prohibits disclosure of student record information to a third party without written consent from the student.

Students have access to their semester grades by presenting their pictured ID in the University Registrar's Office or online via Zipline.
