Every student is required to carry a University of Akron photo-identification card (ZIP Card) while on campus. This card must be presented in order to secure materials from the library, tickets to athletic or cultural events, to rent or loan equipment from the student center, and to register for courses. These cards are issued free of charge to new students in the Zip Card Office located in the Student Union and Simmons Hall. A fee is assessed for replacement cards.

Your card will be used to verify your enrollment status electronically at various locations on campus.
