Transfer Credit

The University of Akron awards transfer credit for course work completed at other accredited institutions of higher education for students admitted as follows:

  • Prior to Spring 2004: for which a grade of "D-" or better was earned.
  • Spring 2004 through Fall 2005: for which a grade of "C-" or better was earned. Students completing the Ohio Transfer Module and an associates degree with a cumulative grade point average of 2.00 or better will receive transfer credit for coursework passed with a grade of "D" or better. Any "D+", "D" or "D-" work earned after the awarding of the associate degree will not be accepted.
  • Spring 2006: for which a grade of "D-" or better was earned.

Neither grades nor grade point averages at other institutions are used in the calculation of The University of Akron grade point average.
