Apply to the Student Venture Fund at The University of Akron

 Student Venture Fund (SVFUA) conducts due diligence of early stage companies, providing some with:

• Business assessment and support
• An opportunity to undergo the full due diligence process
• Micro funding in anticipated amounts of $10,000 to $25,000
• Connection to additional entrepreneurial resources

Application Deadlines

SVFUA continuously accepts applications and screens all applications on a semi-annual basis, selecting 8 to 12 applicants to give brief presentations and 1 to 2 to undergo due diligence.

• Apply by 5:00pm October 14th for consideration for Fall Semester

Application Process

• Any eligibility limitations: ex. All applicants must be Northeast Ohio technology-based companies recognized by Ohio laws.

Funding Process

Applicants may be asked to submit additional information to help the Fund make its selections. Companies selected to undergo due diligence will be expected to share detailed information on finances, products and technology, and the backgrounds of officers and board members. SVFUA plans to offer funding in exchange for convertible debt.

SVFUA is a student-run nonprofit Evergreen fund that provides experiential learning to Akron-area graduate students and pre-seed validation to high potential start-ups that benefit the Northeastern Ohio region.
