Academic Resource Center (ARC) Graduate Assistant Coordinator 330-972-5614 What Does the ARC Provide? The Academic Resource Center provides the residence hall student with a diverse array of educational assistance and support services. The ARC is designed to help residence hall students achieve their academic goals at The University of Akron. The ARC, located in Gallucci Hall, offers a variety of resources to the residence hall student. Upon visiting the ARC, you will find a room filled with study tables, reference books, an extensive test bank and tutorial services. The services provided in the ARC are free for residence hall students and in high demand. Tutoring is available in the ARC by tutors who have been nationally certified through the Developmental Programs Office. Subjects vary according to demand, but math, science and English are generally available. Computer Labs In response to the modern demand for computer resources, the ARC administers five computer labs. The Orr Hall and Gallucci Hall computer labs offer both PC and MacIntosh computers. Computer Lab Assistants are available to maintain the functionality of the equipment and to answer any questions. The computer lab locations and hours of operation are as follows: Computer labs are accessible only to current residence hall students. To access the computer labs, a current University ID with valid hall sticker is given to the Service Desk in exchange for a computer lab key.
Monthly Programs Programs on varying topics are prepared, one per month, during the school year. Some of the subjects include the following: Note-taking Skills, Study and Listening Skills, Test-taking Skills, Time Management, Writing Papers, Stress Management and many other academic programs.
