Room Assignments

The most important part of The University of Akron residence hall system is your room. We want your room to be a place where you feel at home, so each is planned and furnished with your comfort in mind.

As you submit your Housing Contract, you may indicate a room, building and/or roommate preference. We cannot guarantee that every request will be honored, but we will do our best to place you in a setting that you will enjoy. We do reserve the right to reassign students and to terminate occupancy of rooms when it is for the good of the students involved.

Room and roommate assignments are made throughout the summer. If you do not request a specific roommate (most students do not), your assignments will be based on the information you provided on the Housing Contract. All students may choose to release their contact information to their roommate(s) or withhold that information until the start of the school year. If your roommate(s) have released their contact information, it will be provided to you in the assignment mailing. You may then choose to contact him/her to decide who will bring a stereo, ironing board, iron, rugs, etc.
