An easy way to earn spending money during the academic year is by working as a Community Assistant at the service desk in your residence hall. Summer is the time to send in an application.
Eligibility & Starting Dates
You must carry a minimum of 12-credit hours per semester and provide proof in the form of a class registration form. Students who commit to a full academic year are preferred. Employment as a Community Assistant is contingent upon a successful criminal background check as set forth by University-established criteria that must be comploeted prior to the start of the upcoming academic schoolo year. Employment for students begins Friday, August 24. Training is required and provided prior to working shifts.
Duties
Community Assistants are responsible for telephone reception; identification verification checks of residents and guests; equipment check in/out; customer service; guest registration and assistance; and miscellaneous tasks as assigned. We encourage students to get involved by applying for the Community Assistant position and joining our team.
Pay
Federal minimum wage for regular desk shifts, $1 extra per hour for late shifts.
