Staying In Touch

Telephones
Your room will have telephone line service but you need to bring your own telephone. Because many families now use their own long-distance service, calling cards, cell phones, etc., the University no longer contracts with a service provider. Please plan accordingly.

Internet/Ethernet
All residence hall students have direct-connect network service. University Apartments and Garson Hall are high-speed wireless network environments, and residents need to purchase "wireless cards," available at most computer stores or at Computer Solutions in The Student Union. The University recommends a Cisco Systems wireless card designed for your PC or Mac.

Those who want to use the Ethernet need a 10Mbps Ethernet card with a 10Base T Connection. We recommend the 3COM Ethernet card. Cards for direct-connect or wireless applications are available at Computer Solutions on campus.

If you have tech questions, call the University's technical support at 330-972-6888.

Cable TV
Cable television is available in all residence halls, townhouses and University apartments. Television sets should be "cable-ready".
