Major Events

When students think of residence hall activities, they think of the Residence Hall Program Board (RHPB). As the major programming organization for the residence halls, RHPB sponsors activities such as Welcome Weekend, Little Sibs Weekend and Hall Fest. RHPB is run by a nine-member student board made up of four committees in charge of everything from handling publicity to sound and lights and booking professional entertainers.

Each of RHPB's four committees is always looking for help from you, our new students, to assist in organizing the year's programs. The following is a list of the committees and what they do.

Music and Comedy (MAC)

Concerts, dances, comedy nights and other events are all planned by the Music and Comedy Committee. This committee spends the year contacting agents to schedule bands, singers, comedians and other entertainers.

Publicity

Students living in residence halls find out about each week's activities because of the work of the Publicity Committee. This comittee produces the buttons, posters, banners, flyers, table tents and booklets found all through the residence halls. The Publicity Committee is always looking for new and creative talent.

Technical Committee (Tech Crue)

With the power of light and sound, the Technical Committee enhances RHPB's events. Aided by a large inventory of lights, sound and special effects equipment, this committee can help an entertainer appear in a flash of light.

Joining one of RHPB's four committees is an easy way for you to get involved. Meetings are held at the beginning of each Fall semester to provide information and recruit new members.
