Research is currently in trends in public address speaking and the importance of place and tourism experiences in perceptions of competitive success. Current creative projects include authoring a comprehensive public speaking textbook and facilitating students in oral interpretation of literature performances. I have coached the nationally-recognized University of Akron Speech Team for 11 years and have had students obtain regional and national successes, most notably nine top-three team finishes and 21 individual champions at the Ohio Forensic Association State Championships.
