Biography

Rita is originally from Ghana in West Africa. She worked as a T.V. news reporter before moving to the U.S. As a reporter, Rita reported on local and national news stories and also got the opportunity to work on feature stories for CNN World Report. She has been teaching part time at the School of Communication since Fall of 2006. Some of her courses taught include Survey of Communication Theory and Effective Oral Communication. She currently teaches Introduction to Public Speaking, a course that introduce students to the principles and theories of effective communication in public speaking and is a general education requirement for all students at the University of Akron.
