Dr. Dudley Turner just had a manuscript featured in the 28^th Annual Conference on Distance Teaching and Learning. The paper titled “Quest-based Learning Activity for First-year Students: Pilot Study” employs second life as an educational tool. The quest-based activity was developed to involve students in discovering hints and searching for information and points are earned for each quest fulfilled. He conducted the pilot study with students in his student success seminar and concluded that educational games can provide an alternate learning approach for students.
