Research Services & Sponsored Programs I have been employed all of my 28 years in the department of Research Services and Sponsored Programs. My job duties have changed over the years, but the main focus is still all about helping the faculty. I organize grant writing workshops and bring in outside agencies to talk to the faculty about potential funding sources; I personally do funding opportunity searches and do a daily Opportunity Briefs which comes out on a daily list serve. I am the administrative facilitator for the internal seed grant program, the Faculty Research Committee, which generally has a budget of $180,000 per year. I work particularly closely with new faculty who may not have refined their areas of expertise and thus do not have clear funding agencies in mind. It gives me great pleasure when I am notified that a faculty member has received an award from the National Science Foundation, the National Institutes of Health, or a foundation.

HOBBIES hiking, biking, reading, and many church activities, including hospital and nursing home visitations
