ROBERT W. STACHOWIAK JR. Departmental Systems Administrator University Police

As a student assistant in 1979 I worked for Special Services but since being hired as a full time employee in 1980, I have spent the duration of my career in the police department. I am the Systems Administrator for the police department responsible for the departmental network and all of the departments computer hardware and software. I also video tape, edit and produce videos of training sessions and special events. I am the departmental web master and I also supervise an assistant who assigns and bills for department overtime, maintains training records, maintains the department library, schedules and bills the firing range and performs other data entry duties. We are quite busy!

ACHIEVEMENTS

I was one of a group of concerned campus members who collaborated to keep a bowling alley in the new Student Union Building. I designed and developed the local area network for the police department and brought email to the police department desktops when everyone was asking "what is email". I also developed one of the first law enforcement web sites in the state of Ohio. I was elected to SEAC in 2002 and I was an observer to the Board of Trustees. I now currently serve as a Faculty Senator

HOBBIES

I am a Black belt in Tae Kwon Do and love all sports. I love playing with my wife and two kids.

SOMETHING UNIQUE ABOUT MYSELF

On March 6th, 2004 in Columbus at the Arnold World Championships I sparred another person who I later found out was a two time Tae Kwon Do world champion. He kicked like a mule! Everyone said I did well to stay in the ring with him. (He was 11 years younger.)
