Akron Art Museum

         Displays new and historic art, conducts creative workshops and concerts.

Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank 

         Collects and distributes food donations for local food pantries.

Akron Children's Hospital

The largest pediatric healthcare system in Northeast Ohio, operating 2 pediatric hospitals, 20 pediatrician visits each year and about 70 pediatric specialty locations across the region. 

Akron Digital Media Center

         Provides training for community members to become local journalists for the Akron community.

Akron Metropolitan Housing Authority (AMHA)

          Connects people to resources for housing, transportation, job training, consumer credit      counseling, utility assistance and other needed services.

         Respite camp for children and adults with disabilities.

Akron Summit Community Action, Inc (ASCA, Inc)

Offers resources and educational training that promote economic self-sufficiency to low-income residents, including the Head Start Program, and Youthbuild

         Offers event information for tourists who are visiting the Greater Akron Area

Akron-Summit  County Public Library

         Provides educational materials to the community.

Akron Urban League

Seeks to improve the economic, cultural, social, educational and recreational conditions affecting all citizens of Summit County, particularly African Americans, other minorities, and those most in need. 

Akron Zoo

         Enables the community to have an enlightening animal experience while promoting local conservation.

American Chemical Society

Promotes science education, science research, and public understanding of science.

American Red Cross

         Responds to disasters and emergencies with needed supplies and volunteers.

Asia Services In Action, Incorporated (ASIA, Inc.)

         Provides Asian Americans  with services such as translation, health promotion, and self-sufficiency resources.

Axess Pointe Community Health Center

Provides quality, affordable and compassionate health in all communities. 

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Summit, Medina and Stark Counties

A local chapter of the national youth-serving organization, based on a one-to-one relationship between an adult volunteer and a child at risk. 

Blick Clinic

Provides a variety of clinical outpatient, residential and day program services for individuals with developmental disabilities, behavioral health needs and other related conditions. 

Boys and Girls Clubs of the Western Reserve 

         Youth development organization with after-school services for school aged at risk kids.

BVU: The Center for Nonprofit Excellence

Promotes business volunteerism and fosters excellence in nonprofit organizations.

Advocates for the well-being of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people in Akron and surrounding communities through different programs and events.

         Improves housing conditions in East Akron by producing homes, providing economic      development programs, and increasing energy efficiency in homes.

         Helps eliminate discrimination in  housing, while promoting community involvement, providing  education, and performing research involving affirmative action.

Freedom House for Women

Establishes and maintains housing, family unity, employment, educational opportunities and sober living to enhance the quality of life of women.

Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.

Happy Trails Farm Animal Sanctuary

Rescues, rehabilitates and provides an adoption program for abused, abandoned and neglected farm animals.

         Hattie Larlham is a nonprofit organization that provides services to more than 1,500 children and adults with developmental disabilities.

         Provides food, shelter, clothing and recovery programs for homeless men and women.

H.M. Life Opportunity Services - Humility of Mary Housing

Serves families trapped in the cycle of homelessness through transitional housing.

Humane Society

Rescues and rehabilitates abused, abandoned, and neglected animals of Summit County, places them in good homes and investigates and prosecutes animal cruelty.

Junior Achievement of North Central Ohio, Inc

JA programs help prepare young people for the real world by showing them how to generate wealth and effectively manage it, how to create jobs that make their community more robust and how to apply entrepreneurial thinking to the workplace.

         Develops and implements public education and community improvement programs on litter prevention, recycling, waste management and beautification for the City of Akron.

PB and Jelly Program

         Assembles bags of food and distributes to elementary school students in need.

         Offers low-income people, ages 18-24, hands-on home construction training, education and leadership skills/life skills while they work toward their GED or high school diploma.
