         Provides training for community members to become local journalists for the Akron community.

         Provides educational materials to the community.

         Offers event information for tourists who are visiting the Greater Akron Area

         Enables the community to have an enlightening animal experience while promoting local conservation.

American Red Cross

         Responds to disasters and emergencies with needed supplies and volunteers.

Akron Metropolitan Housing Authority (AMHA)

          Connects people to resources for housing, transportation, job training, consumer credit      counseling, utility assistance and other needed services.

Asia Services In Action, Incorporated (ASIA, Inc.)

         Provides Asian Americans  with services such as translation, health promotion, and self-sufficiency resources.

Boys and Girls Clubs of the Western Reserve 

         Youth development organization with after-school services for school aged at risk kids.

Cascade Locks Park Association

         Preserving, protecting, and promoting, the heritage of the Cascade Locks Park & The Erie Canal.

Child Guidance & Family Solutions

         Administers counseling and provides education, support, and resources for children with mental disorders through community agencies, schools and families.

Community Support Services

         Provides basic needs resources for people who have severe mental disorders.

Crown Point Ecology Center

         Promotes organic farming, youth education, and ecological practices through an organic          farm.

Cuyahoga Valley National Park 

         National conservation of land for animal and ecological preservation and human recreation.

Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park

         Engage public support and enhance public use of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park through programming and advocacy.

East Akron Community House 

         Improves housing conditions in East Akron by producing homes, providing economic      development programs, and increasing energy efficiency in homes.

Fair Housing Contact Service

         Helps eliminate discrimination in  housing, while promoting community involvement, providing  education, and performing research involving affirmative action.

Greenleaf Family Center 

         Strengthens families in our community through counseling, education, and support.

Habitat for Humanity

         Builds homes for families in need.

Hattie Larlham 

         Hattie Larlham is a nonprofit organization that provides services to more than 1,500 children and adults with developmental disabilities.

Haven of Rest

         Provides food, shelter, clothing and recovery programs for homeless men and women.

Info Line, Inc.

         Connects people who need community services to local resources.

International Institute of Akron

         Creating and implementing  services to assist the foreign born to integrate into our society, to promote public awareness of the value of ethnic diversity, and to encourage international communication.

Keep Akron Beautiful

         Develops and implements public education and community improvement programs on litter prevention, recycling, waste management and beautification for the City of Akron.

Leggett Elementary School

         Akron Public school serving Kindergarten through 5th grade.

Mobile Meals, Inc.

         Provides nutritious meals and services to people of all ages and economic circumstances throughout Northeast Ohio

Mothers Assisting Mothers 

         Provides resources and educational services to families living with  chronic illness

Nazareth Housing

         Develop housing for low and moderate-income families in Summit County.

Ohio & Erie Canalway Coalition

         Provides educational programs, events and publications about the Heritage Canalway to preserve the natural, historical and recreational resources throughout the area.

Open M

         Helping people with long and short-term needs of food, health care, child care, and educational programs for children, adults, and families.

PB and Jelly Program

         Assembles bags of food and distributes to elementary school students in need.

Pregnancy Care

         Serving women who face untimely pregnancies by providing   testing, emotional support, educational  services and material goods.                

Project Learn

         Provides free and confidential basic literacy, GED, ESOL and college transition classes for adults.

Project Rise

         Provides services to homeless children to reduce educational barriers  

Rebuilding Together

         Provides home rehabilitation services to low-income elderly and disabled homeowners.

RePlay for Kids

         Adapts and distributes toys and assistive devices for children with disabilities.

Ronald McDonald House

         Provides a respite and rejuvenating place for the families of the sick children.

Rubber City Roller Girls

         Nonprofit roller derby team which gives back to the community by providing a “Skate for Kids” event for homeless and other at-risk children.

Safe Landing Youth Shelter

         Emergency shelter for troubled young people 11 years of age and older.

Salvation Army
         Meets human needs through community fellowship, rebuilding lives after disasters, providing comfort and support.

SCORE

         Provides affordable workshops and business counseling for organizational growth and development.

Summit County Historical Society

         Preserve and interprets the history of Summit County and Akron, and  educates regional communities about the people and events that have shaped our rich history.

Victim Assistance

         Provides support, prevention, and justice for victims of tragedy, their families and the surrounding communities.                

Youthbuild

         Offers low-income people, ages 18-24, hands-on home construction training, education and leadership skills/life skills while they work toward their GED or high school diploma.
