MISSION STATEMENT

Engineers Without Borders (EWB) is a national humanitarian organization that gives university students and engineering professionals a unique and life changing opportunity to participate in and improve the global community. At the University of Akron, students in collaboration with most degree-granting colleges, have adopted a project in Guarizama, Honduras that will provide more than 4000 people with potable water. We have committed to a sustainable, long term partnership with the community (at least 5 years)that will allow us to see the project through and ultimately hand it over to the people of Guarizama. EWB at the University of Akron is a unique opportunity for individuals to become globally and socially responsible citizens.

ABOUT EWB - USA

Engineers Without Borders - USA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to partnering with communities in  developing countries and providing them the opportunities to improve their quality of life through the implementation of environmentally and economically sustainable engineering projects that address basic needs of water, sanitation, shelter, and energy systems. By bridging the gap between those looking for help and those eager to help, EWB facilitates the completion of service projects that profoundly affect a community while developing socially and environmentally conscious engineering students through hands-on international engineering experience. In an effort to make scheduling and communication between members as efficient as possible, our Organization is fully integrated with ORGSYNC. Please join our organization through the school's Orgsync (it only takes a few minutes) and or send us an e-mail. To register with Orgsync follow this link.  Pick University of Akron as your community, sign in with your campus ID, and find our organization by typing in "Engineers Without Borders". Once you click join, we will receive an e-mail to approve you as a member, giving you access to our calendar and updates.

NON STUDENTS

If you want to join our organization or just want to receive updates on our organization's activities and events, please e-mail us at ewb.uakron@gmail.com.  We will also begin to send out a monthly newsletter to those who are interested.
