Student Opportunities and Rec Works: Join Our Team!
Student Recreation and Wellness Services will be hiring student assistants for the Fall 2014 semester, in the areas of Intramural Sports, Outdoor Adventure, Informal Recreation, and Fitness & Wellness. All interested candidates must be full-time students, and will be required to attend RecWorks, a pre-application information session. Please check back here after August 1, 2014 for updated information about the upcoming RecWorks session(s).
Student Recreation and Wellness Services at The University of Akron will be hiring 5 Graduate Assistants for the 2014 – 2015 Academic Year. These positions have a tentative start date of August 4, 2014. Ending date may be negotiated. Appointment is for 1 year (9 month contract) with a second year being renewable with a positive evaluation. Outdoor Adventure position is a 12 month contract. Interested in working in a Recreation Facility? At SRWS we strive to give interns a well-rounded internship experience to prepare them for their next professional steps. Internships typically include a major assignment to one of our program areas, with supplemental duties in supporting areas of interest. We work with each individual intern candidate to coordinate their experience with existing requirements and standards of their program
The SRWS Internship opportunities are unpaid.
Intended for students majoring in: Recreation Management, Sport Management and Exercise Science, and we will consider other majors if appropriate. Opportunities include experience with:
- Fitness and Wellness Initiatives
- Outdoor Adventure
- Staff / Student Training and Development
- Intramural Sports
- Club Sports
- Facility Operations
Important Dates to Remember: Deadlines are specific; however, semester days/months are flexible with class schedule and internship requirements. Email email@example.com with any questions.

All interested interns are required to complete the application, review and interview process. After the application is received, the information will be reviewed to determine what opportunities are available and if our program fits your goals.
