      Internship Opportunities

      Interested in working in a Recreation Facility? At SRWS we strive to give interns a well-rounded internship experience to prepare them for their next professional steps. Internships typically include a major assignment to one of our program areas, with supplemental duties in supporting areas of interest. We work with each individual intern candidate to coordinate their experience with existing requirements and standards of their program

      The SRWS Internship opportunities are unpaid.

      Intended for students majoring in: Recreation Management, Sport Management and Exercise Science, and we will consider other majors if appropriate. Opportunities include experience with:

      • Fitness and Wellness Initiatives
      • Marketing
      • Outdoor Adventure
      • Staff / Student Training and Development
      • Intramural Sports
      • Club Sports
      • Aquatics
      • Facility Operations

      Important Dates to Remember: Deadlines are specific; however, semester days/months are flexible with class schedule and internship requirements. Email srwsinternship@uakron.edu with any questions.

      • Fall applications DUE: July 15th
      • Spring applications DUE: December 1st
      • Summer applications DUE: April 1st

      All interested interns are required to complete the application, review and interview process.  After the application is received, the information will be reviewed to determine what opportunities are available and if our program fits your goals.
