Program Participation
Outdoor Adventure programs are available to University of Akron students, faculty and staff, recreation center members and the local community. Some programming is limited to only students and will be clearly identified in the program description.

Minimum Participation Numbers
Every program has a minimum number of participants for the program to run. Please check in the OASIS office for  the minimum number of participants required.

Program Registration
Registration for all fall and spring semester programming begins on the first day of classes for each semester. To register for an adventure program, please visit the OASIS during open hours. Most trips have an associated fee to participate. Payment in full is required to register for a program. If a program does not have a fee, it still may require registration. Program registration is based on a first-come, first-served basis.

Registration Deadline
Each adventure program has a registration deadline. Please review the appropriate schedule to ensure that you register in time for your intended program. Trips fill early in the semester. Sign up early to ensure your spot.

Program Payment
We accept Visa, Master Card, Discovery, Zip Card, personal check and cash.

Refund Policy
For most programs, refunds will be issued if a program participant cancels registration 10 days in advance of the program.

Refunds for programs that have a registration deadline less than 10 days prior to the trip will only be issued if the participant cancels registration within two business days after the trip's registration deadline.  Refunds cannot be issued if a participant cancels their registration within five business days prior to the scheduled program due to associated program costs and fees.

If a program is cancelled due to weather or lack of participation, a full refund will be issued. Refunds will only be issued up to two weeks after the cancelled program. Please hold onto your receipt, as it will be required to issue a refund.

Waivers and Forms
Every participant in an adventure program is required to fill out our Outdoor Adventure Activity Waiver and Photo Release Waiver. Some programs require participant to complete our Medical History Form.

The completion of required forms and waivers will occur during the program registration process. To review the waiver and forms please click on the appropriate form:

Trip Difficulty and Pre-Requisite Experience
The majority of Outdoor Adventure Programming is designed for the novice or beginner recreationalist. However, a few of our programs do require pre-requisite training or experience. If a program requires pre-requisite training or experience and/or if the trip difficulty is geared towards the intermediate or advanced recreationalist, that will be clearly identified in the program description. If you have any questions about your ability to participate in any of our programs, please contact the outdoor adventure program at
