Outdoor Adventure

The Outdoor Adventure Program invites you to take a break from the rigors of daily life and experience the vertical excitement of the indoor climbing wall or indulge your adventurous side on an outdoor trip program.

Outdoor workshops and seminars as well as adventure trip programs help meet all the adventure needs of the students of The University of Akron and the university community.

The  vision of the OA program is to provide adventure challenges and outdoor experiences that foster personal growth and wellness.

About Us
The Outdoor Adventure Program is staffed by skilled outdoor professionals as well as students aspiring to become outdoor professionals. Our instructors hold many professional certifications by nationally recognized organizations such as the American Mountain Guides Association, American Canoe Association, Leave No Trace and Wilderness Medicine, and Red Cross Wilderness First Aid (WFA).

Our goal is to provide high-quality adventure programming and instruction at the lowest cost possible.

The Outdoor Adventure Program is here first and foremost for students of The University of Akron, but faculty, staff and community members are encouraged to participate.

The Outdoor Adventure Program office and Rental center (OASIS) is located in room 140 of the Student Recreation & Wellness Center. The OASIS (Outdoor Adventure Services Intramural Sports) is located on the first floor of the recreation facility, just inside the back entrance located off of parking lot #10 on Spicer Street.
