Augmentative-Alternative Communication and Assistive Technology Center The University of Akron, School of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Services include:

• Evaluations and funding request preparations for augmentative-alternative communication (AAC) devices including requests to Medicaid, Medicare, BVR, and private insurance

• IPad consultations including app selection, access adaptations, assessment and intervention for the use of iPads as communication devices

• Family education and intervention related to the use of AAC devices & iPads as communication intervention toolsAssistive technology evaluations for written language intervention

• Interventions and consultations for those with physical disabilities, autism, and other developmental disabilities who require AAC
