Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology

Information for Prospective Students

Thank you for considering The University of Akron for your graduate education in speech-language pathology.  As you undoubtedly know, admission to our program is highly competitive.  We receive approximately 150 applications per year, and admit a class of approximately 25 students.  The admissions data for recent classes is available in both the “Admissions Standards” and the “FAQ” sections of the website.

All information and instructions for applying to our program is found on our website.  Please be certain to thoroughly review all information before submitting your application, paying special attention to our CSDCAS application deadline.

NOTE: We will use the email system through CSDCAS/WebAdMIT for all contact regarding your application.  This system will be used to notify you of the status of your application, to communicate any questions, to extend the interview invitation, and for admission status notifications.  The email address will read “donotreply@webadmit.org”.  Please enter this in your “safe” email list to be sure that emails sent through the CSDCAS system are delivered to you.  Also, check your Spam folder regularly in case the emails are caught there.

Applicants who are denied admission to our program may re-apply the following year.  However, if re-applying, the applicant should be able to demonstrate additional qualifications, new achievements, and/or new experiences related to the field of SLP.

We appreciate your interest in our program, and we know that the application process is stressful and that the decisions you are facing can be difficult.  Please let us know if we can help you in any way.
