Professional Preparation

You will receive the skills and clinical proficiencies required to successfully sit for the Board of Certification examination and the State of Ohio licensure examination.

  • Program accredited through Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE)

Clinical Experience

Ohio requires 800 hours of documented, athletic training experience under the direct supervision of a certified athletic trainer to qualify for state licensure.

  • You will be provided a variety of different clinical instructors and clinical experiences, including:
    • Male/female gender sports
    • Contact sports
    • Collision sports
    • In-season/off-season sports
    • Team/individual sports
  • Field experience can be completed at any of UA's affiliate allied health settings:
    • Akron General Medical Center
    • Summa Health Systems
    • Physical Therapy Center for Family PT

Real-world Experience
