Student Employment: Zips@Work

Zips@Work on-campus student employment jobs, including Federal Work-Study jobs, are part-time and offer flexible hours. Gain new skills, make invaluable connections to expand networks, build resumes, earn money, continue to graduation, and become career ready.
Jobs are located on UA’s main campus, Wayne College, and some off-campus locations. Undergraduate and graduate students can work as hourly student employees. Hourly wages are subject to Ohio minimum wage requirements. Some positions pay a higher wage. Students receive a bi-weekly paycheck for hours worked.
The Federal Work-Study (FWS) Program is a federally funded, campus-based aid program designed to offer opportunities for part-time on-campus jobs for eligible students who have received a financial aid Federal Work-Study award. Graduate students interested in Graduate Assistantship (GA) contract opportunities should reach out to the department of interest. The hiring process for a Graduate Assistantship is managed by Human Resources.

Search and Apply for On-Campus Jobs
- View the list of on-campus job openings posted on Handshake, UA’s job board, and apply for positions that interest you. Students are also encouraged to visit departments on campus to ask about on-campus job opportunities and apply directly to the department.

New students enrolling in classes at The University of Akron for an upcoming semester, you will automatically receive access to Handshake when you receive your UA email and are a confirmed student.
Current students can find on-campus job openings on our website and in Handshake.
