UPWARD BOUND CLASSIC PROGRAM PURPOSE: What is Upward Bound Classic?
Upward Bound is a federally funded TRIO program which provides free academic support services for income eligible students to assure participants will have an opportunity to obtain a post-secondary education. The program is funded by the U. S. Department of Education and The University of Akron. ELIGIBILITY: How Do I Enroll in the Program?
Upward Bound Classic students must meet federal income guidelines and must be "first generation" college students; neither parent has earned a baccalaureate degree. Students must be 9th - 12th graders who wish to succeed academically and attend college. Students accepted into the program are required to maintain a 2.5 grade point average.
