Alternative Spring Break
Mission Statement: The University of Akron Alternative Spring Break provides humanitarian aid to the afflicted communities of Louisiana and Mississippi in wake of the damage caused by Hurricane Katrina. Our cause is to promote the general welfare of those in need by extending a hand of friendship beyond our local community.

To indicate official interest in participating in the Alternative Spring Break Trip, registration packet materials must be completed and submitted to the Information Center on the second floor of the Student Union. This registration must be accompanied by a $100.00 nonrefundable deposit. Registrations are accepted on a first come-first serve basis. Spaces are limited, register as soon as possible.

Upcoming Gulf Coast Relief Trip: The University of Akron Alternative Spring Break Committee is currently planning the next Gulf Coast Relief trip. This year we are traveling to New Orleans, LA, to help rebuild homes ravaged by Hurricane Katrina. We will depart from Akron on Saturday, March 14, 2009 and will return to Akron Saturday, March 21st.
All interested University of Akron students, faculty, and staff are invited to register for the trip. Participants must be at least 18 years of age. For additional information please contact:
