Alcohol Awareness WeekHeld in October, Alcohol Awareness Week recognizes liable behavior and educates The University of Akron campus community to think and act responsibly when participating in activities associated with alcohol consumption. Alcohol Awareness Week engages The University of Akron community in recognizing the importance of safety and responsibility through a series of alcohol-related educational and co-curricular activities. |
Black History MonthThe month of February marks the sharing of both black history and culture. A wide array of lectures, performances and exhibits focused on African-American history, politics and culture are highlighted during Black History Month. |
Diversity WeekHeld in September, Diversity Week at the University of Akron encourages the campus community to increase awareness and celebrate the visible and non-visible differences in the human race. Diversity Week celebrates and educates The University of Akron community while developing a deeper understanding and appreciation for a variety of diverse settings. |
Family WeekendTypically held during the fall semester, Family Weekend celebrates University of Akron students and families. This event stands to develop traditions and connections with our campus community, alumni, families and surrounding neighborhoods. |
LIFE AwardsHeld in April, the LIFE (Legacy, Integrity, Fellowship and Excellence) Awards are designed to recognize and honor the leadership, excellence, distinction, achievements and support of our organizations, activities, students and faculty/staff at The University of Akron. |
SpringFestHeld the last Friday of the spring semester, SpringFest is a celebration of the end of the academic year while enjoying Live Music, Food, Games, Activities,Fireworks, and more. We are continually looking for students to serve on a variety of committees including food, games and attractions, check ins, general entertainment, traditions, developement, and marketing. |
Women's History MonthThis is celebrated during the month of March. Women's History Month recognizes, promotes and celebrates women's contributions and causes by providing education and entertainment that emphasizes culture transformation. |
