Chapter Bio:

 

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated was founded January 15th, 1908 at Howard University in Washington D.C. A small group of college-trained women with a passion for sisterhood and  service founded the sorority just one generation removed from slavery. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated is the first historic African American Greek Letter Organization under the National Pan- Hellenic Council. Devoted Delta Pi Chapter was chartered April 15th, 1961 at The University of Akron and has been striving towards academic excellence and service on campus and in the greater Akron area. Devoted Delta Pi has helped different organizations from Haven Arrest, Violet’s Cupboard, Akron Pregnancy Care, and Keep Akron Beautiful. Some of Delta Pi’s signature events are AKAerobics, Pretty Tough, Change For Change, and Dine to Donate.
