IFC Recruitment

University of Akron Student,

On behalf of the Interfraternity Council, welcome to The University of Akron. The best way for any student to meet people is to get involved in campus life, and the best way to get involved on campus is to join a fraternity. The Interfraternity Council is the governing body of 12 undergraduate fraternities on The University of Akron Campus. As a Council, we encourage you to take the time to look at becoming part of the tradition here at The University of Akron.

At The University of Akron, becoming a member of Greek Life is an excellent way to join a community of campus leaders, scholars, volunteers, friends and brothers. Joining a fraternity is an experience that will stay with you throughout your entire life, not just your college career.

Each fraternity is rich in tradition and much more than a social organization. Each Fraternity contributes to both their local and national communities through philanthropy, community service and developing leaders for our communities. We encourage you to visit our 12 chapters and find the chapter that is best for you.

Here at The University of Akron there is a Structured Recruitment set up during the first week of school, and we encourage everyone to participate. During recruitment you will be given the opportunity to visit and socialize with all of the chapters in a single location. The process allows for all potential new members to visit all of the chapters in a central location. This is the best way to learn more about what opportunities fraternities at The University of Akron have to offer.

We encourage you to attend our first Fraternity recruitment session Monday August 23, from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. on the Coleman Commons.
