Message From the President
On behalf of the officers of the Interfraternity Council (IFC), and the twelve individual fraternity chapters that make up the IFC, I wish to welcome you the University of Akron! Being a part of Greek Life is an experience that opens up several opportunities that will help give you a more exciting college experience. Greek Life offers networking opportunities, leadership opportunities, community service projects, and friendships that will last a lifetime.
The fraternities here on campus can boast an average GPA of 2.86, which is higher than the All-Men’s Average GPA. It has been proven that students who get involved on campus are more likely to stay in college, improve their grades, and graduate. In the past semester alone, the 300+ men who make up the IFC membership have done over 5,000 hours of community service and have raised over $18,000 in charity.
The members of Greek Life here at Akron are very diverse and each chapter is unique in its own way. I wish that you take the time to visit and meet members of every chapter to see where you fit in the best. Feel free to take a look at our calendar of events to see what chapters are holding events that you can attend to find out more about them.
