Event Outline

As the capstone program to Leadership Week on campus (February 20-25, 2017), the E.D.G.E Leadership Conference will take place on Saturday, February 25, 2017.• Registration will begin at 8:30am• True Colors training and activities will take place from 9am-10:30am• Keynote will begin at 10:30am• Leadership Sessions will take place from 1pm-3pm• Event wrap-up will begin around 3pm

Additional Details

Through personal reflection and group activities, attendees will learn from trained facilitators about the personality and leadership indicator, True Colors. Guests will explore the topic of leadership and its correlation to diversity and inclusion from a keynote presenter. The leadership acronym of "E.D.G.E." will be broken down in a way you will not want to miss! During the afternoon, attendees will have the opportunity to attend a leadership session facilitated by selected presenters.

Conference Theme

E.D.G.E. is an acronym representing: Engage, Distinguish, Grow, Emerge. These descriptors were selected as the goal of this conference is to:ENGAGE students in self-reflection, hands-on training, and group activities.Allow attendees to DISTINGUISH themselves as a leader who has taken the intentional opportunity to further develop skills.Provide students the opportunity to GROW as a leader through True Colors, motivational speakers, and a variety of interactive sessions.Allow students the opportunity to EMERGE as a better, stronger, and more international leader.

We are excited to offer eight conference sessions presented by colleagues from institutions across Ohio. A call for program submissions will take place in November - December. If you are interested in presenting with us, email lead@uakron.edu and we will ensure you receive information!

Please use the button found above to submit your conference registration beginning on December 1, 2016. Be sure to register by Friday, February 10! The conference is FREE to all enrolled UA students. Non-UA students from neighboring institutions can attend for just $10 (if associated with a chosen presenter, this fee can be waived for two attendees).
