Super Service Saturdays take place once a month and provide a valuable volunteer experience in the local Akron community. All volunteer experiences are from 11am-1pm and students meet in the Student Union Commuter Lounge at 10:30am before carpooling to the agency sites.

Spring 2013 Super Service Saturdays Events:

January 26: Safe Landing

Volunteer with Safe Landing of Akron! Safe Landing helps to provide immediate assistance to both the young person and their family in a time of crisis. Volunteer projects will include cleaning, organizing, and an activity with the youth at the Boy’s Shelter.

February 9: Veterans Services

Volunteer with Veterans Services of Akron as part of our FebROOary Service Month! Volunteer opportunities will include cleaning and organizing the Veterans Services office. As an agency, Veterans Services provides medical, financial, and emotional support to all of our veterans in the Akron area.

March 9: Cuyahoga Valley National Park

Serve with Cuyahoga Valley National Park by helping to get the park ready for Spring! Volunteer opportunities include cleaning and organizing all of the winter gear. Cuyahoga Valley National Park takes pride in helping to preserve history and the environment.

April 6: Edwin Shaw Challenge Golf Course

Volunteers are needed for the Edwin Shaw Challenge Golf Course! Serve your community by helping to clean and transform their 9-Hole Challenge Golf Course to prepare for the Spring! The Challenge Golf Course and Driving Range was the first golf facility built in the nation for individuals with disabilities. Located on the Edwin Shaw Hospital's main campus, the course has wheelchair-accessible paths, handrails on the tees and slopes with inclines of 8% or less.
