Here it is - the start of another new semester - Spring 2012. Welcome to all returning and new students. You should know that while a large portion of Summit College is housed in one of the most unique and largest academic buildings in Ohio -the Polsky Building, that our Engineering and Science Technology program is housed in Schrank Hall North and South. The Polsky Building is the home of our degree programs in Business Technology, Allied Health,Public Service, Associate Studies. It also serves as home for Developmental Programs, Workforce Development and our Training Centers in Law Enforcement (Police Academy), Fire & Hazardous Materials, and Emergency Management & Homeland Security.
We are committed to continuing a tradition of engagement with the greater Akron community. From its beginnings in 1929, the Polsky Department Store was the centerpiece of a bustling, thriving downtown Akron. We strive to continue that tradition of service by providing those skills necessary for the future workforce of Northeast Ohio. We are glad that you have chosen Summit College, and we will do everything possible to make your educational experience at UA rewarding and memory filled.
