Marketing & Sales Technology

The Associate of Applied Business degree in Marketing and Sales Technology equips students with the technical skills required to fill entry-level positions in distributive business areas such as retailing, wholesaling, and related services. The program also provides emphasis in retailing, sales and advertising, and fashion.

Students who have successfully completed the requirements for the associate degree in Marketing and Sales Technology may:

  • Enter the workforce at entry-level positions in distributed business areas including retailing, sales, industrial distribution and fashion.

  • Enter a bachelor's degree program in Organizational Supervision. This program is designed specifically for students with an earned associate degree from an accredited institution or junior standing at The University of Akron.

  • Transfer (step up) to the College of Arts & Sciences for an additional two years of coursework leading to a bachelor's degree in Communication or Fashion Merchandising.

Minor degrees will only be awarded at the time a student receives a baccalaureate degree and only if the over-all GPA for the minor courses is at least a 2.0.
