LeanOhio at The University of Akron
UA Business Solutions is proud to be a partner with LeanOhio, a project managed by the Ohio Department of Administrative Services (DAS).
UA Business Solutions is Northeast Ohio's preferred provider of Lean and Six Sigma. We have delivered over 50 sessions to the region's corporations of every size, saving over $105 million dollars as a result of reduced waste, optimized work flows, and increased team dynamics. Our team works to create custom training programs that can be delivered on site, or through any of The University of Akron's six campus locations in conjunction with the State of Ohio and LeanOhio program.
UA Business Solutions is proud to offer two tracks of Lean education, both with funding available through grants and government loans through programs like the Ohio Local Government Innovation Fund (LGIF).
Below you will find information on the two types of Lean delivery, and information on LeanOhio and government funding options. If you have any questions, click here to email our Director Brian Malloy.
LeanOhio Boot Camp is an intensive week-long training that gets people learning and using Lean methods and tools. The entire program is tailored to the public-sector workplace and public-sector processes. This is practical training aimed at generating results. Participants will be able to use their new knowledge and skills immediately -- to make government simpler, faster, better, and less costly.
The training is filled with government examples and exercises. Included is an in-depth simulation involving a prototypical agency, so participants build their toolkits by way of a real-world situation. Its perfect for people who work in government in an Ohio city, township, county, school district, or other governmental agency or organization.
Customized Contract Training
UA Business Solutions is one of the only providers in Ohio that offers a truly customizable Lean/Six Sigma training solution. Our staff and instructors have worked with companies all around the state in establishing industry specific programs, to be delivered on site or through any of the six University of Akron’s campus locations. This regional flexibility and customizable curriculum means your Lean education is targeted, tuned, and relevant for your company and staff. Scholarships are available through the Local Government Efficiency Program. Click here for information. Participants should have support from their organization leadership to attend -- and then to apply Lean concepts and tools in their workplace.
