Lean For Government Funding

The state of Ohio recognizes the importance and long term benefits of a Lean education, and as a result there are many options for local governments to receive scholarships, loans, or stipends to offset or totally cover the cost of a Lean training.  Combined with the expertise of UA Solutions and the total accumulated savings of over $105 million dollars, the value of a LeanOhio education from UAS is tremendous.

Local Government Efficiency Program (LGEP)

The LGEP is a new initiative from the State of Ohio's Local Government Innovation Fund (LGIF).  There are two funding options from the LGEP, grants for customized Lean education programs, and scholarships for the LeanOhio Boot Camp program.

Process Improvement Grants

Up to $100,000 in grant funding for local governments to learn and use Lean/Six Sigma to improve operational standards, efficiency and procedure.

$2,000 scholarships are available for local government or other political subdivision leaders or staff to attend the one week Lean Boot Camp course.  UA Solutions in conjunction with LeanOhio and The University of Akron is an approved provider, and will work with LeanOhio in securing funding and enrolling personnel.

Local Government Innovation Fund (LGIP)

The LGIP exists to help fund initiatives that aim to increase efficiency; both in operations and product delivery.  LGIP funds are distributed based on applications submitted and approved quarterly and on a rolling basis.   The LGIP offers up to $50,000 in grants per study project, and up to $100,000 in loan assistance per entity and up to $500,000 for collaborative projects.
