UA Press publishes critical edition of literary magazine

The University of Akron Press has published "The Akron Offering: A Ladies' Literary Magazine, 1849-1850." The book, the second volume in the "Critical Editions in Early American Literature" series published by the UA Press, is edited by Jon Miller, professor of English at UA. Composed of religious, romantic, political and sometimes comic pieces, the collection covers important questions of the day and provides a vivid picture of Akron's canal era.  

"The Akron Offering" is available in a 400-page paperback edition for $39.95 (ISBN 978-1-935603-53-5) and can be ordered through The University of Akron Press website. Book reviewers can request copies by sending an e-mail to uapress@uakron.edu.
