27-Aug Union-A-Palooza Student Union Union-A-Palooza is the kickoff event of the fall semester. This event features all types of activities and freebies scattered throughout the three floors of the Student Union. There will be music, dancing, free food, inflatables, speed friending, caricatures, balloon artists, Zippy, and more! 8 p.m. 11 p.m.
28-Aug Late night at the Rec sponsored by Campus Focus Student Recreation & Wellness Center Free pizza throughout the evening and a massive dodge ball game at 10 p.m. All of the regular Rec activities which include the pool, basketball, futsal, climbing wall, and fitness equipment will be available until close. 7 p.m. Midnight

28-Aug The Deans of Comedy E.J. Thomas Hall The Deans of College Comedy is a one-of-a-kind show at The University of Akron. They are four of the best college comics in America, together on the same stage at last. The Deans are Steve Hofstetter, Jay Black, Ronnie Jordan, and Taylor Tomlinson. These four comedians have, collectively, performed at over 2,500 schools and own several awards for their work on the college circuit. The Deans are "rising stars" who have each had success in television and movies. That said, this diverse group has one thing in common: a love for the stage, specifically the college stage! 9:09 p.m. 10:09 p.m.

29-Aug Casino Night & RA Lip Sync E.J. Thomas Hall RA Lip Sync features Resident Assistants from each residence hall on campus lip syncing various songs. Come out and have some fun! It's followed by Casino Games, Live Band Karaoke, Silhouettes by Kathryn, Facebooth VIP Lounge, Caricatures, Letter Name Art, Lester & Body Art by Susan, Photo Dry Erase Boards, and ATOM-World's Fastest Painter, plus so many cool prizes that you could win! 7 p.m. 11 p.m.
29-Aug Fraternity & Sorority Life Ice Cream Scoial Student Union Ballrooms Join the fraternity and sorority community for free ice cream! Stop by this event to learn more about fraternity and sorority life, as all 23 fraternities/sororities at UA will have a table set-up to share more information about their chapter and the benefits of getting involved in Greek Life. Fraternity and sorority members will be able to answer questions about how to join a fraternity or sorority and what being a member is really all about. This event is a great way to meet new people. All UA students are invited to come and learn more about fraternity and sorority life! 4 p.m. 6 p.m.

30-Aug Roo Fest Student Union RooFest is the University's LARGEST involvement fair! Representatives from more than 100 registered student organizations will be in the Student Union to welcome you to campus, talk with you about their organization, and give away FREE items! Stop by to learn more about getting involved on campus and the 290+ student organizations UA has to offer! Activities will take place throughout the Student Union; join us for an afternoon of involvement, freebies, and lots of fun activities! The first 2,000 students will receive a FREE tote bag! 2 p.m. 4 p.m.

2-Sep Punt-Pass-Kick Competition Lee Jackson Practice Field Join us for the FREE Intramural Punt-Pass-Kick Competition and test out your football skills as we kick off the new year of Intramural Sports programming! The event will take place on Wednesday, September 2nd from 7-10pm at Lee Jackson Practice Field (Schrank Turf). Registration will take place on-site from 7-9:30 pm. Simply show up with your ZipCard for a chance to win your very own Intramural Sports Championship T-Shirt...a coveted item at UA, and the first one to be awarded this year! 3-Sep Drop-In Service Event Student Union 310 Join us for an on-campus service project to aid the Susan G. Komen Foundation, which is working to end breast cancer. Race for the Cure, the foundation’s largest fundraising and educational event, will take place this September in Cleveland. The foundation is seeking assistance to assemble race bags for race participants and we need YOUR help! Stop by between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Thursday, September 3, to Student Union 310 to meet others, enjoy lunch, and volunteer some of your time. If you have questions about this service project, please contact serve@uakron.edu 11 a.m. 1 p.m.

5-Sep IFC Fraternity Recruitment - Service Event Summit County Historical Society Service is a strong value of our fraternity community and at the core of personal development and contribution to the surrounding community. As fraternity men we take great pride in improving the lives of others through service. Participate in this service event at the Summit County Historical Society while creating friendships with other men going through the recruitment process and IFC Community leaders.
