About the Degree
The Master of Science in Nursing program has several advanced practice specializations and other advanced role specialties. The purposes of the program are to provide preparation for advanced nursing practice as a nurse practitioner, or nurse anesthetist and to provide a foundation for doctoral study. Post Master's certificate programs are available to prepare currently certified clinical nurse specialists and nurse practitioners who want to acquire an additional specialization. Areas of advanced role specialization include Family Nurse Practitioner and all currently offered APRN roles.
Specialization is available in Adult/Gerorontological, Psychiatric Mental Health, Pediatrics, and Administrative.
The MSN student courses and outcomes are designed to meet The MSN Essential of Master’s Education in Nursing (2011). And are as follows:

- Translating and Integrating Scholarship into Practice
- Informatics and Healthcare Technologies
- Health Policy and Advocacy

- Master’s Level Nursing Practice
Salary and Career Outlook
Many students secure positions in either outpatient practices including Internal Medicine, Primary Care or Specialties.
Depending on the area and practice setting, most new graduates salary ranges from $77,000-100,000.
