Philosophy Fundamentals

Philosophy plays a central role in the understanding of ourselves and the world around us. 

Our comprehensive curriculum covers such philosophical topics as:

  • ethics
  • bioethics
  • logic
  • history of philosophy
  • philosophy of mind
  • philosophy of science

We offer four bachelor's degrees.

  1. BA Philosophy
  2. BA Social Sciences, PPE track (Philosophy, Political Science, and Economics)
  3. BA Social Sciences, PSP track (Philosophy, Sociology and Psychology)
  4. BA Philosophy/Law (JD) 3+3 Accelerated

We offer certificates in:

  • Police Ethics

We offer minors in:

  • General Philosophy
  • Bioethics

Other than the General Philosophy minor and the Ethics minor, all are interdisciplinary, which means six of the credits can be earned from select courses in other departments.

Interested in a law degree?

You can earn your bachelor’s in political science and a UA law degree in six years instead of seven. To complete law school, you typically need four years to complete a bachelor’s degree and three years to complete a law degree. Learn more about our 3+3 Program.
