Student Employment

Student Employment

There are three opportunities for student employment at The University of Akron. The Office of Financial Aid can help with Federal Work-Study jobs. If students need assistance in finding other employment, the Student Employment area in the Career Center is ready to assist them with their search and several other questions.

Federal Work-Study Program

The Federal Work-Study Program is a federally funded campus based aid program designed to provide part-time jobs for eligible students with financial need. Jobs are located both on and off-campus. Students work around their class schedule.

To participate, students must be enrolled at least half-time (6 credit hours) each semester they are employed. Students may not exceed their award amount and work more than 30 hours per week.

Jobs are posted on the web and on departmental bulletin boards. View current listings.

Other Employment

The Regular Student Employment Program

All undergraduate students registered as full time students may participate in this program. Students are employed on-campus in part-time jobs and work around their class schedule. Jobs are posted on the web and/or on departmental bulletin boards. View current listings

Part-time Off-campus Student Employment

This is a federally funded program which provides part time employment opportunities for students off-campus. All interested students may participate in this program. View current listings.
