Biography

Captain Timothy S. Rober, originally from Dennison, OH, received his commission through the ROTC program at Bowling Green State University in 2006 and entered the U.S. Army as a Second Lieutenant in the Air Defense Artillery Corps. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education with a focus on Language Arts from BGSU and a Master’s of Arts in Leadership Studies from the University of Texas at El Paso.

CPT Rober’s first duty assignment out of BOLC in 2007 was in the 2nd Battalion, 43rd Air Defense Artillery at Fort Bliss, TX, serving as the Launcher Platoon Leader. As a member of 2-43 ADA he deployed to Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar for a 15 month tour as a Tactical Control Officer in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

After graduating from the Captain Career Course, he was assigned to 69th ADA BDE at Fort Hood, TX where he attended the Air Defense Artillery Fire Control Officer (ADAFCO) Course and served in the Brigade Operations Cell.  CPT Rober joined 1-44 AMD BN during their deployment to Kuwait, where he took command of Delta Battery at Camp Buehring in April 2011. He commanded Delta Battery for 26 months until June 2013 then became an instructor and course manager for the Captain Career Course – educating and training future commanders and staff officers – at Fort Sill, OK. He is currently the Assistant Professor of Military Science at the University of Akron.


Research

CPT Rober’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal x2, Army Commendation Medal x2, the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War of Terrorism Service and Expeditionary Medal, and the Overseas Service Ribbon x2. CPT Rober is married to Suzie Rober of Sheffield Lake, OH. They have two daughters: Evangeline (4) and Emersen (3).
