About

Auxiliary Enterprises is committed to providing a variety of required and optional services in a friendly, convenient environment.  The University of Akron’s vast and diverse customer base is comprised of faculty and staff, employees, visitors, alumnus, parents and first and foremost, our student body.

Auxiliary Enterprises maintains a philosophy to be sensitive to its customers' needs by offering quality products and services at competitive prices.  The size of the Auxiliary Enterprise departments and their ability to operate is in direct proportion to the acceptance and usage of its products and services.  This requires a constant commitment to quality and excellence on the part of every employee in every department.

Auxiliary Enterprises supports the University community through University Dining Services and Materials Handling; which includes mail services, shipping and receiving, print and copy services and surplus property.  Other services include Parking and Transportation Services, retail, campus card services and the Hower House Victorian Museum.

Operating as self-supporting departments with a marketing orientation, the units offer these services at competitive rates to all UA departments and to students to minimize their expenses and enhance recruitment and retention.  These units also generate revenue to allow for enhanced development and operation of other initiatives that support the University’s research, academic and service functions.
