Summa Health System
From: Melissa Maddi: Research Program Director of Orthopedic Surgery at Summa Health System.
We are interested in obtaining the assistance of undergraduate students who would be interested in helping out on manuscripts for publication. At this level, we would provide them with a detailed outline (written by our residents and attending physician), where then the undergrad student along with the assistance of medical students would perform the literature search and write the first draft of the paper (review articles, book chapters, meta-analysis, etc).
Obviously, if accepted for publication their name would be listed! We feel this is the great way for students to get exposure to medical research and build up their CVs for medical school applications. This will also help us push more projects through our pipeline.
Feel free to email or call if you have any question.
