Finance Advisory Board Economic Summit Awards Program

The purposes of the Finance Advisory Board Economic Summit Awards Program are to:  (1) promote and encourage students who show great promise for successful finance careers in business and government, (2) support the student recruitment efforts of the Department of Finance, and (3) maintain and improve the quality and reputation of Department of Finance programs by attracting excellent students. 

A total of two (2) awards (one graduate student and one undergraduate student) will be presented during the 2013 Economic Summit on March 19th.  The winners must be present at the Economic Summit in order to receive their award.  Each award recipient will receive a Certificate of Recognition and a $2,000 check.

Selection Criteria:

Minimum Cumulative G.P.A. - Graduate 3.8/Undergraduate 3.5

Demonstrated leadership skills

Extracurricular activities

Outside activities/Work experience

Application forms are now available in the Department of Finance (CBA 201).  A copy of this form is attached.  Also, an electronic application form will be sent upon request.  Submit request to svs10@uakron.edu.

The Economic Summit Committee will, in consultation with the Department Head, recommend the award recipients to the Executive Committee of the Finance Advisory Board by March 6, 2013.  Each award recipient will also receive ongoing career advice and counseling from faculty members in the Department of Finance.
