CBA Students visit Hyland Software02/23/2010
A group of 20 students from the College of Business Administration took the opportunity to spend half a day at Hyland Software. Based in Lakewood, Hyland Software was founded in 1991 with a focus on document management. They have created an award-winning enterprise content management (ECM) suite called OnBase which is now used by more than 8,000 mid-tier and Global 2000 enterprises.
The visit included presentations from the human resources and quality assurance teams to explain the products, services and culture of Hyland Software. An exceptional tour followed the presentations that included the data center and a wave from the CEO/President. The tour ended with a slide down the Silver Bullet. After the tour, Kathy Vegh brought down several employees from QA to take individual students back to the employees work area for the shadowing. During the shadowing, students received a practical insight into the daily activities of the employees and some of the tasks and challenges of the job. After shadowing, Hyland treated the group to a pizza lunch where students and employees interacted on an informal basis. Everyone on the trip, as well as the Hyland bunch, enjoyed the interactions, camaraderie, and experience and we look forward to our next event!
