2012 AASHRM Scholarship Award

CBA student Katie Chmura was recently awarded the 2012 Akron Area Society for Human Resource Management Scholarship. An honor’s student, she is majoring in human resource management with a minor in entrepreneurship and will be graduating this spring.

Chmura, who is currently Vice President of the UA Student SHRM Chapter, was delighted with the award.

“SHRM has been an influential organization in my undergraduate career and will continue to have an impact in my professional career,” she said. “I was honored to receive this award because it is an expression from AASHRM that the board believes in my abilities and trusts I will have a positive impact in the HR field.”

After graduation, the Buffalo, NY native plans to continue her education at the graduate level while gaining experience working in the HR field.
